Viewpoints

A fluid group of NCS members and interested others who meet every couple of months, historically at Norwich School but increasingly at each other’s houses. We discuss a wide range of things that matter. Past topics have included:

  • Should politicians lead or follow the people?
  • Is equality possible or even desirable?
  • Deterring harm to others. How far should governments go?
  • What constitutes lying and when is it morally justifiable?
  • Belief: Sources thereof and its effect on our lives
  • What is a Civilised Society?

Currently suspended.

Incrementum

This is a fun investment lunch club, comprising up to twelve Norfolk Club and NCS members, set up to exchange investment ideas and to discuss the major factors likely to move markets in the future. No actual money is required, although of course members can take ideas away to invest in themselves. Currently, our main notional portfolio comprises 76 equities and funds, all picked by members. We meet every 6 to 8 weeks at the Norfolk Club followed by lunch and are always on the lookout for new members.

Organiser: Geoffrey Smart.
